I own a log cabin in Government Camp Oregon on Mt. Hood, and needed to replace the double hung windows which had broken glass seals, causing all the glass to become fogged. ‘A New Image Exteriors’ was one of the contractors picked to evaluate and ultimately bid on the job.
This was a tricky job due to the remote location and unique material requirements. The old windows were manufactured by a supplier that has gone out of business and parts are no longer available. Harry investigated several different solutions, requiring him or his team to make several trips up to the mountain. Ultimately he recommended new custom-made window sashes from Jeld Wen to be installed in the existing frames.
Once I selected Harry to do the job, things moved along pretty much according to plan even in the face of some interesting challenges, including matching the interior stain. One of the new windows had some damage from the manufacturer but Harry went ahead and installed all the other windows while we waited for the new window to be custom made.
When the job was finished, the new windows looked beautiful. There were a few places where the fit was allowing some minor air leaks due to the existing frames forced out of shape by the logs settling over the years. Harry and his team quickly made yet another visit to the mountain to address the few remaining adjustments.
A New Image Exteriors’ did a nice job, performed on schedule and was responsive to all my requirments. I am very satisfied with the results.
